10:06. Activists of the movement 'I am a drop in the ocean' on behalf of Ukrainian people have appealed President Viktor Yanukovich with a New Year's video message.
11:01. President Viktor Yanukovich congratulated Ukrainians on the coming year.
'Through the Maidan, national roundtables, political quarrels and frank dialogue we head the way of the mutual understanding and national unity', said Yanukovich.
11:20. Tens of thousands of people met the New Year at Kyiv's Independence Square. Immediately after midnight they sang the anthem of Ukraine, holding flashlights and mobile phones.

16:50. Kyiv's police received 17 reports of wrongdoing by Euromaidan activists.
17:10. Former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili congratulated Ukrainians on New Year on the TV channel '112 Ukraine' in the Ukrainian language.
'I wish Ukrainians good mood, success, victory. And hold on!', said Saakashvili.
17:29. Euromaidan in Donetsk wished President Viktor Yanukovich resignation in a video message.
17:50. Today the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists will open a public library on one of their party's tents on Euromaidan.
